This 16.6x* zoom lens offers the highest magnification available in an interchangeable lens for mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras, allowing photographers to shoot with a single lens over a wide range of focal lengths, from 24mm to 400mm equivalent in 35mm format, from wide angle to telephoto. The lens is also overwhelmingly compact and lightweight to reduce the burden of carrying, weighing approximately 930g when mounted on the OLYMPUS OM-D E-M5 Mark II. It can be easily carried anywhere and is useful in a variety of shooting situations, including travel.

When shooting wide-angle, the lens allows the photographer to get as close to the main subject as possible, with a minimum shooting distance of approximately 22 cm (10 cm from the lens tip), allowing the photographer to capture the subject together with the background. Telephoto shooting, with a maximum magnification of 0.46x (35mm film camera equivalent), is suitable for close-up photography and for expressions with a large blurred background. This versatile lens can be used with a single lens for a variety of subjects from indoor to outdoor scenes, including close-ups of children's facial expressions.

The camera is equipped with the MSC (Movie and Still Compatible) mechanism, which employs an inner focus system that moves a lightweight lens consisting of a single bonded lens element to adjust the focus. The short shooting time lag ensures that you will never miss an opportunity to capture a moment in time. The high speed and high precision of the AF lens drive, despite being an all-in-one zoom lens, allows you to enjoy comfortable shooting.

Chromatic aberration and distortion are thoroughly suppressed throughout the entire zoom range by effectively arranging special lenses such as Super ED lenses and aspherical lenses.
