G-SHOCK Sustainability Theme Model
- From the toughness watch G-SHOCK, which has continued to evolve in its quest for insatiable strength since its launch in 1983, comes a model using recycled materials with a sustainability theme.
- The band is made of materials from the “FOOD TEXTILE” project, which recycles discarded foodstuffs as dyes, and the base model is the GA-B2100, with its octagonal form intact, smartphone link and Tough Solar.
- The crossband of GA-B2100CT-1A5 is dyed with a color extracted from coffee to create a dark brown hue, while the crossband of GA-B2100CT-5A is dyed with a color extracted from echinacea to create a khaki gray.
More than 90% natural dyes are used to produce the gentle colors.
The band is made of TRUECOTTON, a TRACEABLE (traceable) organic cotton that can be “farm and mill identified” to protect the working environment and craftsmanship of all those involved in its production, while reducing the burden on the environment.
- The main resin parts of the bezel are made of biomass plastic, a material derived from renewable organic resources that is expected to contribute to the reduction of environmental burdens, including the reduction of CO2 emissions.
What should have been simply thrown away has been reborn as a new watch, a sustainable watch that is also environmentally friendly.
[FOOD TEXTILE]
This is a project to reuse discarded foodstuffs from the fashion industry.
The project purchases out-of-spec foodstuffs and scraps of cut vegetables from food-related companies and farms that would otherwise be thrown away, extracts the ingredients contained in the plants, and dyes them using the dyes.
In addition to developing original products, we have worked with various domestic fashion brands and interior design manufacturers to produce, sell, and commercialize products to address the issue of food loss.
Currently, we are working with more than 15 domestic food-related companies, agriculture, and farms to build a sustainable system that connects the industry.

is TRACEABLE (traceable) organic cotton that can be “farm and mill identified”.
The cotton is produced in an environment where the workers on the cotton farms can lead healthy and bright lives, and the workers at the spinning mills, where the cotton is spun into yarn, are encouraged to work hard tomorrow.
