The lens offers an easy-to-use zoom range of 27-75mm (35mm film equivalent), a brightness of F2.8 that allows you to enjoy bokeh expressions, and sharp images achieved by the latest optical design technology, all condensed into a compact body. With a minimum focusing distance of 12.1 cm and a maximum magnification of 1:2.8 (*1), you can take advantage of the compact shooting system, such as shooting close to the subject at will.

The main feature of the 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary is its overwhelmingly compact and lightweight body that maximizes the excellent portability and advantages of an APS-C mirrorless camera. Although it has a large aperture of F2.8, it is the smallest and lightest in its class(*3) with a maximum diameter of 61.6mm, length of 76.8mm, and weight of 285g(*2). This makes a large-aperture standard zoom lens easy to carry around with you in your daily life.

Long-awaited addition of X mount

In adding the compatible mount, control algorithms such as AF drive and communication speed optimization were developed exclusively for X-mount interchangeable lenses. In addition to high-speed AF, AF-C (Continuous AF) and in-body aberration correction* are also supported. The mount is rubber-sealed for use in a variety of environments.
