The "GX Series" is designed to withstand impacts (gravity) from all directions (X = extra). 2-layered urethane bezel has hard urethane on the outside to guard against impacts and soft urethane on the inside to absorb impacts, enhancing the protection capability of the entire bezel.
The inner protector covering the module is molded with urethane to have a bellows-like cross-section. The inner protector, which covers the module, is molded with urethane so that its cross section is bellows, preventing impact from being transmitted directly to the module. The LCD surface is covered with a protector to protect it from impact. The concavo-convex shape of the protector surrounding the LCD surface gives it a strong appearance. In addition, Alpha Gel, which excels in shock absorption, is incorporated in the inner protector at 4 locations (3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock). This structure blocks shocks in multiple layers so that even if shocks are transmitted inside the case, they are not transmitted to the module itself.
The design expresses strength and fearlessness. The main color is matte black, which is also used for the coloring, to evoke a sense of power and strength. Red, the brand color, is used as an accent.
The watch is equipped with a function to receive standard radio waves from six stations around the world and Tough Solar, and practicality is also taken into consideration. This G-SHOCK thoroughly pursues "toughness" in terms of both technology and design.
